Astrill has offered nothing but headaches, terrible vpn access and customer service that should not even be called service. I have had nothing but problems with Astrill VPN, provide slow, unreliable vpn internet access from Beijing, China. I had been using Astrill for four years. They seem to have been singled out for attention by China's censors. Their main website was blocked long ago and now it seems their alternative address is also blocked. The desktop and android clients won't. In China, I recommend Astrill over Express VPN. Astrill has a Smart Mode that automatically tunnels only for international sites, which is really useful in China. As you may know, some local websites or service will not work once VPN is enabled. Anybody else having problems connecting to Astrill today?
Yes, it did this a week or so ago for a few hours.
Not Astrill, but having Witop problems today, and just some general net issues…as usual.
I just renewed with Astrill last week. Had a few problems (my PC configuration is kinda weird) but i gotta say, their customer service is top-notch. The new China Optimized server has been blazing fast for me; no Netflix or Youtube stuttering at all…
For me LA servers are fast, UK too… is better do a speedtest weekly or on specific server because load is different day by day…
A nice day,
I have some speed problem using Astrill in OpenVpn mode. I know about all the restriction on this protocol for China. I want know if can to be a problem related at MTU size.
I have a chinese router locked about configuration (MTU ??? maybe 1492 ???) – private router (MTU 1442) – astrill client (MTU 1400).
Looks like a correct connection? if i don’t misunderstood, ADSL line MTU must to be higher and software / pc MTU must to be lower, right?
Thanks for everything and good work
Coincidentally, after the Chinese propaganda sirens, I wasn’t able to connect to strong nor senvpn. Both PPTP and L2TP failed
Chinese government 很牛B

We did intensive tests and found the issue is not in our software at all.
Recent Chrome/Chromium browsers have internal DNS client, so they bypass system DNS resolver. Astrill can control only system DNS resolver. There is an option to disable this new feature and use system resolver.
To do so, type:chrome://flags
Then search for Asynchronous DNS, set it to Disabled. Restart browser. This should fix your issue.
